Young people and place - Hull city centre

For two days during October half term in 2009, we talked to young people in Hull City Centre as part of a research project asking how they felt about their public realm. We interviewed young people between the ages of 5-18 in order to find out if they felt that the city was designed for them of for an older generation of users. Our research informed plans by Hull City Council to make Hull's public space more inclusive and interactive for children and young people to enjoy.

We talked to a lot of free runners who have a unique perception of the built environment. We have become big fans of Free Running - an energetic method of urban exploration - also known as 'Parkour':
